The Importance of Forensics
We had a body and strong reason to believe that the circumstances of death were suspicious. But there was nothing firm and no suspect and no motive for a killing. Forensics just don't get back to you on the day like they do on TV. To be honest, there was a good chance this case might be taken off us unless we made progress. So I tried something I'd read about being used by the police in Canada. The theory is that it increases focus, but also you don't miss out on any ideas.
