Shakespeare's Daughter Being 13
On June 29th, 1613, during a performance of Shakespeare's Henry VIII, some small cannons were fired with no balls inside them. Using real gunpowder, a thatched roof caught a light and the whole thing burned down in around an hour. No one was hurt, but one man's trousers caught fire. Luckily, someone close to him threw beer on the flames. It really does put me in mind of all the stories of the early performances of these country guys.
