Palsy makers think long covet is actually contributing to labor shortages in the us and the u ki. We spoke to several people who had quite different experience. A quarter of companies in the u k say it's now one of the main causes of long term sickness absence. It means its equivalent to anxiety and depression and other mental health issues.

Many people with lingering symptoms of Covid-19 struggle to work or have been forced to leave the workforce entirely. Plus, the FT’s capital markets correspondent, Robert Smith, talks about the lessons learned from the collapse of Greensill Capital a year later.
