The Uniqueness of the Gift of Counsel
The gift of counsel actually makes us sensitive to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit. So it's putting us in union with the mind of God, but by making us most sensitive to inspiration throughout our daily lives. The big ticket virtue which kind of runs the show is prudence and prudence is right reason and things to be done. But there are certain things that go beyond us; we want to approach them with a sensitivity to how they bear grace.
