The Good and Bad Use of Polling
A new poll shows that Americans are either ambivalent about or confused by the idea of affirmative action in higher education admissions. The Washington Post/ABC News poll also found that 64% supported a Supreme Court ruling banning colleges from considering race and ethnicity when making student admissions decisions. Kaylee: I think it reflects both a lack of information about how affirmative action actually works on the ground in higher education, and some real contradictory feelings about whether using race and college admissions is a good thing.
