The Provocative Power of the Human Rights Discourse

Human rights discourse attempted to make it philosophically neutral and that's something that could be universal. Surprise surprise it's actually extremely particular it's extremely European is extremely elite. It's not only being wielded against people that don't fit into its definition who is sort of this human normative human being that they have in mind, but it's also doing work to try to produce that type of human being. And that's a really fascinating thing to think about.
