On march sixteenth 19 83, there was a hearing held in a detroit court room under judge charles coffman. This was the manslaughter hearing for ronald evans and michael nitz. The prosecutor's office was physically unable to attend because they were overburdened with many other hearings. Back then, we didn't have the language back them to call it a hate crime. And this shocked everyone because the reason why it got plea bargaind down to manslaughter was everyone thought they're definitely guilty ther on a plead guilty to manslaughter.
