The Funky 4 Plus One and the Furious 5 on SNL
The Funky 4 plus one were the first hip hop group to ever be on TV. They had a low key feud with other acts at Sugar Hill Records, including the Furious 5. Shaw says she was punched in the head or face by cowboy from the Furious 5 when they got into an argument over who could peer out onto Saturday night now. But their big day came just days later - SNL.
