The Importance of Swing Voters

I take the point that both you and Ben made of the kind of the alienation apathy discussed. I think people will draw lessons because the Tories are going to invest in those districts. And if they can become swing voters and squeeze the parties for more, that seems to me a potentially interesting dynamic. It would have been much easier for me to spin out some fucking article saying, you know, like to see people aren't interested in this stuff. No one's turning out. Turnout remains at 50% or so. To suddenly be confronted with a fact which yeah, was heartening politically in some way, but which was intellectually not what I wanted.
