The Polycythemia of a Patient With Intracranial Atherosclerosis
Priyanka: I feel like hematology is a huge weak point for me, but to hear you go through that so beautifully was an incredible discussion. So we were concerned about the patient's polycythemia as you alluded to, explaining many of the patient's symptoms. The etiology was still unknown, but we were wondering if he could have some sluggish circulation leading to transient hypoperfusion. He did receive IV fluids, had a persistently elevated hemoglobin and underwent phlebotomy in the hospital after his presynchopoe workup.
