The Gothic Impact on the Western Empire
The end of the Roman Empire is an aggregate result of several separate groups acting. The Visigoths are one of them, arguably slightly more important because they're more hostile to the Roman center. So it's not a deliberate plan to destroy the Roman Empire. It is an aggregate process which, over time, takes away so much of the tax base that basically the Western Empire runs out of military force.
