The educational system is an environment that has so many constraints on it. People just assume there is one answer because they haven't been given the affordances to find out that there are other things going on. And unless you take those constraints away when people are initially learning, they won't acknowledge that there is a constraint to start with. The big problem in it in the educational systems is, it's not the people know the constraint is there that's leading them to believe something - it's they don't even know there's a constraint there to remove in the first place.
