Ask yourself what's the best thing i can do right now to help this person succeed. This is a really powerful question, and it opens the door to asking other questions of them. Rule of tum nue three, think long term. Your instincts shouldn't be to create a dependency on you that makes you indispensable. It should be to make yourself redundant. You're essential to the successful functioning of your team. Expect them to step up and do their jobs. And when they don't, you need to lead them both individually and collectively.
