Marriage and Divorce

Jesus' teaching on marriage and divorce comes right after his parable on how we are to forgive 70 times seven. What else is marriage but a lifelong commitment to forgive over and over to keep your heart not hard but open and soft in love? The disciples said to him, if this is the situation between a husband and a wife, it is better not to marry. Jesus goes on to lay out an even more radical idea that we'll cover next week: A single person can actually flourish and thrive in the kingdom of God.
