The Relationship Between Matthew 17 and the Great Commission

In Matthew 17, it made me think too of how you can even connect Matthew 17 back to Matthew 5 through 7 with the sermon on the Mount. In some ways the disciples have really taken the place of Moses. And instead of him coming and touching to offer comfort in the face of their fear, he now comes and he leaves them with words that he has all authority. We actually still experience that glory. Even though it's not perceptible to the eye in the same way. It would have been to somebody there in Galilee or outside Jerusalem.
