A Very Successful Intellectual at a Young Age
After the war, Lewis came back to study his undergraduate degree at oxford. He gets what's called a first in the british system of first in three subjects: greek and latin literature, philosophy, in history and english. So this is incredibly obviously very successful intellectual at a young age. Between the two wars he has, he converts to christianity. And he's teaching here at maudlin, which is my oxford college. It's spelled magdalen, but it's pronounced maudlin.
