During World War II there were two men in the British military Gilbert Bradley and Gordon Bouscher who were writing secret love letters to each other which was really risky because homosexuality was illegal. There's very few queer letters from this time period and these letters only emerged after Bradley died in 2008 but now they're like in museums. And we talked to about how like Isabelle Stuart Gardner like lit all of her letters on fire and burn out just before her death. It was a queer people at the time to just like burn their letters before they died. Totally so these ones were saved which was really rare and this is in 1939 right at the beginning of World War II.
