Robert hayden is of that school from the mid century, roughly contemporaneous with awden and langton hughes. He was influenced by stephen vincent benet who was a hugely popular po t in america when he was first getting started as a poet. In addition to those influences we have already mentioned, county cullen, paul lawrence dunbar and some other harlem renaissance poets including john keats.
