Bergson and Time

In Our Time

CHAPTER

The Time Space Business, by Tom for Time and Dure for Duration

Bergson says time is a kind of flow and flux, an interpenetration of elements that make up time. So in some sense he's saying the past progresses into the present. There's a coexistence of the past and the present. Otherwise we can't account for the passage of time. How is this received? Some philosophers think bergson has changed the whole way we think time is made a massive innovation. And then you get detractors and critics such as burton who thinks this is not logically rigorous enough.
