Jesus came on the scene as a rabbi to teach. But he is also the mess iah come to usher in the kingdom of god. And then early on, jesus starts to call for apprentices, or disciples. They start to adopt the life of jesus and are changed by it. As a result, they are changed. Then there comes a moment when jesus says, ok, guys, i think it's been a little while now, i think you're ready.
