Do We Allow People to Get a Legal Separation?

In catholic theology, there is no second and marriage, right? There's one marriage. If it's not valid, it's not a marriage, and therefore you're free to marry again. The abusive spouse, the immature spouse, the crazy spouse, they get to remarry too. They get to go inflict themselves on some other unsuspecting family. I think this is why we see so many bishops who are afraid to proclaim the truth because they're afraid of us being called 'homophiles' Many queers in the clergy don't believe that gay marriage should be legal or even allowed at all.
