The History of DST
David Preira is the author of Seize the Daylight, a book about daylight saving time. He says DST has a fascinating backstory that goes back to Benjamin Franklin in 1784. But he's not really the guy responsible for DST, or at least what we call it today. William Willett had a similar idea more than a century after Franklin and lived outside of London.
