Michela peterson is one kind of moral hero, the person who courageously refuses to let suffering turn them into a victim. There's another kind whom fate has dealt the opposite hand, who's successful beyond our wildest dreams but doesn't let that blind them to the suffering of others. That, for me, is epitomized by mal de gates, who, with her husband bill, created a global foundation dedicated to curing disease and empowering the poorest. What i think about every single day is, am i living out my values in the world? And i've had to ask myself some hard questions along the way.
