Obama's 'Never Again' Message to the House of Representatives
In 2011, Obama accepted the idea that it would be a good thing to reach a long-term budget deal. He went through these negotiations, Biden-Canner, that collapsed. And they were forced to scramble in the final weekend before default and cobble together what turned out to still be a significant budget reduction deal. Molly Ball: It's important that people understand he is not saying he won't negotiate with them about the budget. What he is saying is we are not going to negotiate with the threat of default as the gun cocked against our head.
