Is Health Care More Expensive in Australia?
It is not an expectation that a doctor bulk bills a patient, but a lot of doctors do. Workforce shortages and border closures due to COVID has meant that there's less doctors and nurses and health care workers to go around. So migration has dropped over the last three years. And because being a doctor is like any other skill set, it's similar to a trade skill. The margins are simply not there for most practices, especially general practices. In 2022 saw a massive inflationary pressure on the budgets, federal, state and personal finance budgets in Australia.
