Apple TV and the Atmosphere DTS X Problem
Apple TV will not let apps bitstream anything other than a few formats to a receiver. Dolby MAT embeds this data on into PCM audio for some audio mostly audio coming from its own apps and some streaming apps that support the app miss which apparently modern receivers can understand but apple doesn't seem to allow third party app makers to access this option.
