For project planning, I think I am a big fan of an old-fashioned schedule. People fool themselves into thinking that modern infrastructure deployment can be agile and it isn't because it's all about dependencies. So the first place to start is just by mapping out the high level tasks and yourdependencies. And then what you come up with at the top is your folder structure or Johnny Decimal system.
