So they kind of make a pact to like for all the satanic stuff that's going to happen to this kid there's going to be good stuff that happens to him. The Antichrist is eventually named Adam and couldn't have seen that coming. But we're going to get back around to him in a minute.
Good Omens was written by a sort of science fiction supergroup, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. It's one of those books where it's as fun to chew on the turns of phrase as it is to find out what happens, which is pretty amazing since it's literally about the end of the world.
