Is There One Tree?
If it's true, why wouldn't the Torah just say that it's one tree? I don't know the answer to that, honestly. But I have a little bit of a theory that I'll share with you. One of the great differences between us and God is that God is one and we're not. Every unity that we have in the world is actually a tension between opposites. The orbit of any planet that goes around the sun is the tension of centrifugal force versus gravity. If I just have centrifugal force, planets go flying off into space. If I only have gravity, planets go crashing into the sun.
