The Differential Between HIV and Weight Loss
The patient has a really low CD4 count. This is indicating probably not an acute infection, but a chronic infection. At this point, so many opportunistic infections are possible because of that high number. The generalized weakness can go along with any of these. So we're already into concern for B symptoms from cancer and then HIV itself. And then when we now have a cough, doesn't feel dysnics, but certainly a non-productive cough. We have to think about so many things that could be happening in the lungs.
