Hayek and Ludwig Von Mises

Hayek regarded Ludwig von Mises as the only inspiration of his life's work. He was a huge enthusiast for what he saw as the great turning point in history when markets took over from feudal tyranny. As he saw it, the individual became sovereign and Terence lost control of life because the market had as it were a mind of its own. And so there was this connection in his mind between individual freedom and free markets.
