The biggest thing is those people are motivated. And I think you constantly give them opportunities to push themselves beyond their current capacity so they learn and they grow. Everything you can do as a manager is kind of hide your good person or kind of limit them to slow down their growth, thinking you'll keep them longer. Most reps that I've been around who are highly successful, competitive people who have just overachieved in an individual contributor capacity are not wired to be leaders.
