The study looked at 162 distinct quality metrics that were reported on. It interviewed 168 different individuals involved in quality metric reporting, including senior executive leaders and clinical nursing leaders. The report used three categorization schemes: claims-based, chart abstracted and electronic collection. And it also included summative measures like the CMS star rating of a hospital.
