The Moral High Ground of Minimum Wage

I asked this question of my students periodically. I routinely get answers in the range of 25 to 30% of workers earn minimum wage. Almost nobody gets it even close to right. The correct answer is depending on how you calculate it somewhere between one third of one percent and seven tenths of one percent. What's happening here is as people age, the likelihood of them earning minimum wage falls precipitously.
