Is There a Clearance for Public Health?
At the state and local level, essentially no public health officials had security clearances. And it was very difficult to share the kind of information that was particularly relevant if you have a white powder in your post office. These were lessons learned, i think, and i'm not sure that problem has been completely solved. We do need to find ways to provide t least certain categories of clearance so that people can have information about public health threats.
