The Axis Revolution of the Gnostics
The purpose of it is to give us a mythology that will free us from our existential suffering and allow us to experience this transcendence of the gods. The Gnostics keep churning out new gospels and new stories and new myth because for them it's not about having a final Orthodox story, a final Orthodox set of principles. It's about creating the inactive analogies, the enacted and agogate. That's what matters.
