The word lazy comes either from the german word meaning feeble, and weak, or old english word that meant false and evil. It reminds me of quote, in idle hands, or the devil's playthings attributed to ben franklin,. But they're variations that go back all the way to the mediaeval era. And so it feels like it's a deep part of this kind of anglo american heritage which maybe dates back even further beforea the founding of this country.
Are you lazy? Social psychologist Devon Price doesn’t think so. In their provocative new book, “Laziness Does Not Exist,” Devon invites us to imagine a world where we stop judging other people for being lazy, stop shaming ourselves for being unproductive, and start realizing that doing less is not a moral failure.
