Andy Biford was always interested in public transit as a kid. He studied languages, which is a bit of an unusual route for a transit executive. Once he graduated, he went to a recruitment fair at which London Underground was seeking graduate trainees. On a rather unfortunate day, because that day just happened to be a tube strike, everyone had to pretty much walk to the venue.
