How to Stay Close to Your Child When They're Going Through This

If we know our child is going through this, we're going to probably do what I said not to do in the beginning, which is stay by them. If we think that it's good for them to be in this situation, be close, be what I call a bodyguard. A very chilled out, neutral, but very aware parent or teacher ready to lock whatever might happen before it happens. So if I'm right there, it's really easy for me to put up my hand and say, whoa, it looks like you want to connect with him, but I can't let you do it hitting.
