The Problems With Ad Hoc Concepts
Some students find it hard to conceive philosophical zombies. But most of them would find Merrick learned something new after coming out of the Black White Room. It's not like creating some new concept in them. It's just helping them understand what the words mean because there's no single word that corresponds to that. I'm happy with that picture. I'm also happy with the picture where they don't have the concept and it can latch onto a concept. So I think there are other words,. which can capture philosophers notion of what is like, you know, the word feeling was a pretty good candidate.
