The Government's Tax Relief on Performance
The government gives you tax relief on the amount that you contribute. So in your basic way of looking at it, if you put 80 quid in and it's worth 100, you've made 25%. It's just whether you're grossing up or netting down, isn't it? That's the issue. But with the pension, I always encourage you to think in gross terms.
