Foucault's Mafordite Ism
Butler presents the kind of, I guess somewhat rare case of her mafordite ism. Herculean Balbein was a French intersex person who was assigned female at birth and raised in a convent. She later reclassified as male by a court of law after an affair in physical examination. So all that does for Butler is just reaffirm that very binary system between sex and gender she wants to get away from.
