The Importance of Making a Ransom Payment
There's a lot of different reasons or what organizations might feel as business justification to go ahead and make a ransom payment. We've seen where clients have had access to backups, but recovery or access to those backups was going to take a considerable amount of time. I think at the end of the day, clients should continue to take the position that we're not making a ransom payment if we don't have to or don't have the necessity to. It comes down to a business decision on whether they believe there is that necessity.
