Ray Kurzweil, the great transhumanist who's now Vice President at Google. He argues that we're just basically machines and maybe our consciousness is an illusion. It's this kind of schizophrenia that you get in the strong artificial intelligence community which is imbued with materialist philosophy. And so the very people that are studying this technology that ought to realize that persons transcend the machines more often than not are thevery people that don't seem to see it.
