Hanesboro's police chief shot a bear after it knocked over his trash can. Alaska wildlife trooper Robert Welch is investigating whether Scott violated the law by shooting the bear. If found to have illegally shot the bear, he could face a hefty fine and possibly jail time. Residents feel that the state isn't helping them manage the problem of bears.
