Patrick: Why do we all think that Freud or psychoanalysis is back well actually I was maybe even just to get other the questions when you were all talking. When I was in seventh grade or eighth grade um I had my first encounter with reading Freud and the class was on introspection uh but that was the name of the class. It felt like it was one of the first moments where I was like learning something that was visceral, he says. Patrick: There's a sanitized public discourse around things that are complicated sex trauma such as being an adolescent. Psychoanalyst always can be called up as a touchstone of getting at those complicated things that are otherwise very hard to talk about.
