I'm amazed at how careful Peter is not to presume upon the grace of God. We don't call the shots in our covenant relationship. It's his way, not ours. And so this is true of repentance and forgiveness. It's also true of priesthood blessings and prayers of faith. we have to be willing to say if like the leper, if thou wilt, thou can'ts make me clean. I just don't know if you will and I'm not demanding that you do so.
