What's Your Identity as a Literary Fiction Writer?
As an English major, all of my classes were focused exclusively on literary fiction or the classics. So very narrow and very kind of elite literature. And when I was in my MFA, it was really interesting because MFA programs have historically been so focused on literary fiction to the point that many of them did not allow genre fiction at all. It's interesting how they kind of create a pathway for ourselves and our identities.
