Is Malthus Back in the Game?

Population data since the 19 seventies, has been lapsing. As living standards have risen, the population has actually fallend, not grown. The hope is that it kind of balances itself out and the global population slows down. But i think an interesting way to frame the discussion of the next 20 years will be, is malthus back in the game? Or will we find new technologies to propel us forward and allow us to get more out of less? In effect, ye. And that's really going to be the fault line in economics, in tomography and in our societies.
