The Point of Punishing Crime
California has established a task force to study the impact of slavery on black people in California and recommend compensation. The report recommends developing safe spaces for prisoners as well as ensuring current inmates receive fair wages and be eligible to vote. It was earlier reported that the panel was seeking to pass laws creating a wealth tax, mansion tax, and or property tax in order to fund the billion dollar reparations. If we did it to a point in this country where $223,000 checks are passed out to one group of people and not other groups of people, that is the day our country will be lost.
